From BNC file B7A: _New Scientist_, IPC Magazines Ltd, London, 1991.

00077 In good style there would be no comma after "optimistic". The author
may have become confused by thinking that the "rather than" phrase was
being contrasted with another modifier of the following noun "target"; in
any case there is no reason to take this comma as a misprint.

00091 The three negative money amounts following "NECs of" are
represented in BNC by "&mdash" followed by "£" for the pound sign,
with an intervening space in the first and third but not the second case.
The use of a dash entity is probably a misanalysis during BNC compilation
rather than the intended representation of a minus-sign, and it is
possible that the spacing variation is somehow an artefact of the
BNC compilation process rather than original; LUCY represents the minus-signs
as such, but leaves the BNC representation of the spacing unchanged.

00091 Again, space between solidus and "year" versus no space between
solidus and "kilowatt" simply reflects the BNC file; it looks rather
odd, but the same contrast occurs again in 00094 and once in 00096,
though there is no space before "year" at the end of 00096 or in 00106.

00101 "of assumption" is probably an error for "of the assumption",
or "of this assumption"; but the wording as it stands could just possibly
have been intended, so LUCY does not alter it.

00131 "divsity" -> "diversity" (correction already made in BNC file)

00148 "am overwhelming set" -> "an overwhelming set"
